There are eight different species of pangolin – and they are remarkable! These cute armoured mammals prevent ecocide by protect forests from destruction by termites, pangolin’s main food source.
Extinction of pangolins will lead to dead forests and pests being out of control everywhere from jungle to urban areas.

Really scary: every year extinction is closer as pangolins are the most heavily trafficked animal in the world.
Every year more than 100,000 pangolins get poached and/or killed (WWF).
They are served in restaurants as delicacies. In Asia their scales and blood are used in traditional medicine as a magic cure for anything from asthma to lactation issues. This way pangolins ended up as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
